Firecrafter - Events

It is time again to gather together for Mid-Winter Dinner! We will be holding Mid-Winter Dinner on January 2nd at the Activity Center at Camp Belzer. The schedule is as follows:

12:45 PM | Alumni Association Meeting
2:00 PM | Council Committee Meeting
5:00 PM | Possible Fellowship (stay tuned for details)
6:00 PM | Dinner

This year, we will need all hands on deck at 3PM or the conclusion of the CCM to help with set-up of the Activity Center for dinner. We will need to bring up all chairs and tables from the basement! Many hands make light work, fellow Firecrafters.

Our keynote speaker this year is TBD. In addition, recognitions such as The Service Award, Camping Award, Chief's Award, Ember of the Year, Outstanding Firecrafter Award, and more will be awarded. This is the only event of the year that is open to Firecrafters that are not current members in good standing of Scouting America.

If you require a special diet and would like to be accommodated, make sure to include that information in the registration notes.

Applications for the Scott Clabaugh Firecrafter Scholarship are now being accepted. This scholarship (awarded at the Mid-Winter Dinner) exists to support Firecrafter members who desire to pursue a career in non-profit management. The application can be found at this link (deadline 12/20).

Registration cut off date is December 18th, get signed up now! Late registrations will not be accepted for any reason.

Price	Registration	Includes
$25	Midwinter Dinner	Just dinner for this event.
$50	VIP (Very Important Patch Set)	Pre-pay your registration fees (not food) for four events (Midwinter Dinner, Midsummer Ritual, Grand Ritual, and Fall Frenzy) and receive the full year's event patch set plus a special VIP patch. This does not include annual dues for alumni members.
$125	Trailblazer	A complete patch set for the year plus VIP patch, and registration with food for: Midwinter Dinner, Midsummer Ritual, Grand Ritual, and Fall Frenzy. Trailblazers will be automatically registered for these four events. This does not include annual dues for alumni members. There is no refund for events not attended, and the registration is non-transferable.

*Joint Spring Fellowship is NOT included in VIP or Trailblazer, because it is hosted every other year by Jaccos Towne Lodge.

REGISTRATIONS

All registrations now have to be verified for current Scouting America registration & current Safeguarding Youth Training status for adults. There is not a quick way to do that currently, it must be done manually by our Professional Advisor. We also must ensure we have the food and facilities for all participants. That is why registration closes on Friday, July 2nd at Midnight, a full week before the event. Late registrations will not be permitted.

CANDIDATES

Congratulations on your invitation to attend the Firecrafter ritual! We look forward to sharing this experience with you!

Please bring a Troop Leader Handbook (adults) or a Scout Handbook (youth) and refer to your candidate letter and/or the candidate information on the firecrafter.org website to ensure that you are properly prepared for the ritual!

CHECK-IN

All attendees, regardless of role, must register, check-in upon arrival, and receive a wristband to be worn at all times. For those under the age of 18, a parent should remain with the youth until check-in has been completed. Members, if your dues are not current or the email on file is out of date, you will not be able to register until you contact the Alumni Secretary to correct. We'll be happy to help you!

MEDICAL

PLEASE ENSURE YOU BRING A SCOUTING AMERICA HEALTH FORM, PARTS A & B. Health forms for those under the age of 18 must be signed by a parent or guardian! This is required while you are on property for your safety and for our compliance with Scouting America short-term camp standards. You must pick your health form up before departing the event.

All medications must be brought in their original containers and given to the medical crew at check-in. Medications must be picked up before departing the event.

CHECK-OUT

Youth under the age of 18 must be checked out by a parent or guardian with event staff, even to get food. Youth are not permitted to come and go during Scouting America events.

Ritual is a weekend experience. The expectation is that everyone will stay until camp clean-up is finished on Sunday morning. Youth will not be permitted to leave on Saturday night except by special prior arrangement and with an over 21 parent or guardian driver. Candidates of all ages are expected to stay until camp clean-up and orientation is finished on Sunday unless prior special arrangements have been made. Adult members attending for Hill only on Saturday night must sign out with event leadership before departure, the procedure for this early checkout will be announced during Hill preparation.

FOOD

There is a "no food" option for those only coming for part of the events and/or planning to bring their own food. Those under the age of 18 are not permitted to come and go from events, even to get food. Youth under 18 should eat at the event or bring properly secured food to store and prepare themselves at their campsite — refrigeration, food prep, storage, etc. for this will not by provided. All special diets can be accommodated by our cook crew!

This year's theme is TBD. Please join us for a weekend of friendship, leadership, and service as we join in competition to determine "WHO IS THE ULTIMATE MASTERCRAFTER?!!!!!" We’ll be testing which holiday is better by making Christmas dinner and building some Halloween-ified toys, so join us in deciding: Christmas or Halloween?

Any and all ranks of Firecrafter are welcome, so please make sure to register and spread the word to your fellow scouts!
